I just cant get the hang of this new blog, so i am going to go back home and update the pants off my old blog.  I am feeling a bit “under the bloggy weather” with not much to blog about, and even when i do have things to blog about, i don’t want to.   BUT  here is me putting in effort, and i will try do it more :)   i have a wicked hilarious video to share too!  head back over to its all about her….Sorry for the confession, and ps:  at least you don’t have to change your links!  thanks for reading!

Lets hear what you think….Do you think i should stay here on word-press, where i am not really catching on to the whole process as i would have liked, or do you think i should just go back to what i know, blogger.  I find i can customize my blogger much more than my wordpress and the spell checker is even working again..  I do like the looks of the word-press blog, but I’m just not sure i like the fact that I’m not really learning my way around the site…and loading pictures and videos is not as easy as blogger..

any suggestionsÉÉ (and i don’t know why the question mark is not working)

Mayas first real eye exam February 29, 2008

Filed under: Family, Out and About, baby gurl — chelseypoelman @ 11:15 pm

On Tuesday Maya went in to the office for her first real eye exam.  She did all the tests and passed with flying colors!  The Dr’s were really impressed that she sat still (with help from daddy’s funny faces and funny noises) and stayed calm the whole time.  Mayas eyes look great, and she doesn’t need glasses.

This weekend we get to visit with my Aunt Florence and cousin Erica from terrace.  Haven’t seen them since Christmas so it will be nice to have a little visit.  That’s about all…for now

a bit about us February 28, 2008

disclaimer:  after i completed this post, i realized how “sprinkled with fairy dust” it is, our life is not all roses, and does suck sometimes.  Money is tight, i still drink way to much diet coke and watch way too much reality TV our house is often in disarray, and we dont exersice (hardly ever, but we are going to work on that)  but we are happy.  We bicker at each-other and i even yell at Maya sometimes.  but, over all life is good..so, with a grain of salt here is the mushiness.

I find i am getting some new readers, and we have a new blog, so i thought i would start from the beginning and introduce us and our life.

I am Chelsey, I am on Mat leave which is quickly about to end.  I will return to work April 1st and and struggling with the realization that i wont be spending every waking (and non waking) moment with my beautiful daughter.  I have enjoyed being off work immensely, but have to admit..while in the midst of winter i did face some struggles when the weather was bad and  it was dark  a lot, and i just wanted to get out of the house..I was itching to go back to work, now..not. so. much.  But, Alas this too shall pass..

I really enjoy crafting, you can check out my etsy site here me and my sister keri have been very busy with our letters, and are having a blast with the new business.   I have also started Mayas first year scrapbook and really hope to have it done before i go to work..hope hope hope.

I have been married for almost 3 years to my wicked awesome husband Jonathan.  He is going to school full time at UNBC and he has just one year left.  I am very proud of him!  He also works part time at Spruce Credit Union.  What a man!  I am learning more and more about him each day, he is handy around the house, and knows a lot about DIY projects.  Oh, did i mention he is friggen hilarious?  back in high-school he was most known to our friends as “the funny one”  He is so kind and compassionate and gives killer back massages..(i mean killer, my back is really bruised!!)  he takes such good care of me, and is always there to listen to me whine and complain, but is there to tell me to stop being a baby too.

together we have a beautiful daughter together Maya. She is our pride and joy if you can’t tell from every-other post on here! She is almost 10 months old and going to be walking very very soon.  She loves books especially Bark George, very very in to giving kisses and is starting to dance.  too cute!  She has lots of little kiddie friends, and is generally very happy.  She has yet though to master the art of sleeping though the night, she teases us every now and then and will sleep though the night, but doesn’t let us get used to it too often.

this week went too fast February 25, 2008

Jon is now done reading break and is back to the grind stone tomorrow.  This was a good week, i sure enjoyed having my hubby around!  We got lots done  with the bathroom (still not finished though i might add)  He re-did our closet, so i now i actually have some room!!

Maya had an infamous week too, today, she took a whole step by herself.  She has also picked up an attitude…its funny now, but I’m sure it will escalate in to something not so funny one day!  She loves our car keys, and she does get to play with them sometimes.  especially when we are trying to get her in to her car-seat and she is wailing on the top of her lungs, give the car keys to her and she is happy as a slobbery clam..take them away.. and that is where the real fun begins…her hands are clenched in fists , her body goes straight as a board , her face turns all red and she makes the most monstrous growling sounds i have ever heard..it actually frightens me just a tad.

I had to work on Saturday for the first time in almost a year.  wow.  not only was it hard to remember everything i was supposed to do, but the missing of my little monster was a bit more than i could handle.  I have only 1 month left until i too must be back to the grindstone and return to work.  This is a very emotional time for me.  A few weeks ago, when the weather was cold, dark and gloomy 26 hours a day, i thought i would go absolutely crazy if  i had to spend one more day at home, now that the weather is nicer, and work is getting closer i am extremely worried and scared to return to work on a more regular basis.  At this point, i don’t have any option in the matter, with Jon going to school full time, i must return to work…there is no option.  I have a friend that returned to work a few weeks ago, and she is going full time, she says she feels fulfilled again.  I on the other hand, Love being at home with my baby, and love not having to get up early, get Maya ready early, then get home late….and the cycle continues.   I’m sure it will be OK, but it will take some getting used to…

How did you deal with going back to work?

I never did this as a kid, but Jonathan’s family did, and i think its really cool!

so, we did it the other day, and Maya loved it!  She has a growth chart, but it deosnt start until she reaches 3 feet,  so we added our own, Maya is 27 inches tall.

well, seeing as it is reading week for Jonathan, we thought it would be a great time to get some new thigns done to the house.  “What a great time to spend together, and work as a team” “it will be so fun to do a project together “   we are in the middle of completely ripping apart our bathroom, and i foresee one of 3 options.

1.  Chelsey gets killed

2. Jonathan gets killed

3. Divorce

i really don’t see any other option.

some people can work together and some cant…I’m sure you can guess which we are.

* we are done, and even cracked a few jokes at the end..*

phfffewww….
